CIVIL RIGHTS HERO

DOLORES HUERTA

An icon of labor equity and women’s rights, Dolores Huerta founded the National Farmworkers Association (later called United Farm Workers) in 1962 alongside Cesar Chavez. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011. Wildsam interviewed her about her life and work for the book.
